Annual Jim Bowie Festival a Community Celebration
A Re-Enactment of the Famous Sandbar Fight!
Superbly costumed, historically accurate re-enactors portray the characters involved in the true-to-life duel and fight that made the Bowie knife famous, led by historian/actor Jack Edmonson as Colonel James Bowie himself.
Dueling pistols flash, steel meets steel! Edmonson describes the characters and the scene in vivid detail, telling the true story of how Bowie - and the knife named after him - were etched in American history forever.

Live Music by local, regional and nationally known artists, Barbeque contests,Homemade Pie Bake-Off, the DARE Kids Fishing Tournament and the Vidalia Women's Club Street Dance are just some of the excitement of the Jim Bowie Festival.
We are limiting the products vendors are allowed to bring in so that our vendors make every dollar possible. First come first serve.. get your application in now to insure your spot!

Bowie BBQ Contest
We'll be Chillin' & Grillin' again at the River View RV Park in Vidalia, Louisiana, on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi, hosting the Concordia Chamber Bowie BBQ. Come join the fun and don't be surprised if you receive a “Friendly Challenge” to see who has the best BBQ in the Miss-Lou. Bring your favorite grill and sauces and compete for bragging rights for this years Bowie BBQ Championship.
Registration is in advance with limited space available. Entry fee is $35.00 and includes one judged category of your choice. Additional categories are available at $10.00 each.
All proceeds benefit community and business efforts of the Concordia Chamber of Commerce.
